The Western North Regional Peace Council has issued a strong call for peaceful and harmonious New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Primaries in the region.
With the upcoming primaries to elect the party’s flagbearer, the Peace Council’s plea aims to maintain tranquility and unity within the party.
In a press release signed by the Chairman of the Western North Regional Peace Council, Most Rev. Samuel Nkuah-Boateng, he stated the council has closely monitored the public political discourse leading up to the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Primaries scheduled for Saturday, November 4, 2023, in all nine constituencies of the region.
The Regional Peace Council praised the Party’s members and leadership in the region for their decorum and for avoiding actions that could portray the Region negatively.
The Western North Regional Peace Council urged all NPP members, candidates, and supporters to prioritize peaceful coexistence and democratic values during the primary election process.
“The Council thus advises delegates and non-delegates, members and leadership of the Party as well as all political actors to ensure that the region remains peaceful before, during and after the elections.”
The Western North Regional Peace Council admits that elections are often characterized by acts of insecurity which can trigger differences that could lead to conflicts. Hence, the Council encourages all delegates and political actors to have absolute faith in the laws of the country.
