The Coordinator for Movement for Justice and Equal Right, Alhaji Ben Ali Seaman, has called on the party leadership to recognize and reward the hardworking foot soldiers who have been instrumental in the party’s successes.
Alhaji Seaman emphasized his unwavering commitment to the NPP and detailed his significant contributions during the party’s challenging times in opposition.
“When the NPP was in opposition, the party suffered a lot in the hands of the then ruling NDC party, ranging from intimidations to victimizations. In all of these, I stood firm and fought for the party in all angles,” Alhaji Seaman stated.
He recounted his active participation in national demonstrations alongside Sammy Awuku, invoking curses on the Electoral Commissioner over alleged election rigging, and taking bold actions to uphold the party’s interests.
Alhaji Seaman also highlighted his efforts to prevent foreign interference in Ghana’s elections by sending letters to High Commissioners of neighbouring countries, and his decisive action when then-candidate Akufo-Addo’s billboard was removed by a DCE under the NDC.
According to him, despite facing numerous threats from NDC supporters, he remained resolute in his commitment to the party.
However, Alhaji Seaman expressed his disappointment with the current administration, stating that grassroots members have been sidelined in favour of friends and family of appointees under President Akufo-Addo’s government.
“It’s very difficult to have access to them after winning power,” he lamented, calling for a change in approach.
“It’s no more ‘monkey dey work, baboon dey chop’; it’s about new king, new law. We have a different flagbearer in the person of Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and under his leadership, the unfairness game in NPP will not be tolerated,” Alhaji Seaman declared.
Alhaji Ben Ali Seaman pledged to work tirelessly to ensure Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia wins the general elections on December 7th.
He called on the NPP national campaign team to engage grassroots participation for victory in 2024.
“The grassroots participation on the campaign trail in various constituencies is necessary for victory in 2024,” Alhaji Seaman appealed.
