To maintain an adequate supply of blood at the various hospitals across the country, MTN Ghana has held its annual blood donation exercise in Sefwi Wiawso in the Western North Region.
As part of its corporate social responsibility, MTN Ghana on Valentine’s day organized a blood donation exercise to help stock hospitals in the Western North Region with blood.
The exercise was in collaboration with the Sefwi Wiawso Government Hospital, Zipline, as well as Junior Chamber International (JCI), a non-governmental organization.
The event was held at the forecourt of the MTN Ghana branch office in Sefwi Dwinase on the theme ‘save-a-life’. It attracted hundreds of people which include Workers of MTN, students from Sefwi Wiawso Senior High School, Sefwi Wiawso Senior High/Technical School, and the general public.
The Western North Sales Controller of MTN Ghana, Mr. Andy Coffie speaking to the media explained that as part of its cooperate social responsibility, MTN Ghana is committed itself to guarantee the protection and comfort of the Ghanaians.
According to him, the 2020 target was to donate 5,000 pints of blood nationwide to save patients of accident cases, expectant citizens who are at emergency surgery and others.
Mr. Andy Coffie, therefore, calls on other cooperate entities to support the initiative by MTN Ghana and hopes this will be extended to other districts in the Western North Region.
