Prior to the Regional Division Two league starting this weekend thus 11th-13th June, the Chairman of Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Football Association, Ebenezer Nana Yaw Adu Yeboah has visited clubs in his area.
The motive behind the tour was to enlighten the officials, supporters and technical team of various clubs about the game centre brouhaha.
He explained that the 10 Regional FA chairpersons met the COVID-19 monitoring team to pave way for division two football which permission was granted but to be played at a game centre to adhere to the COVID-19 restrictions.
After meeting club officials on Monday, Sefwi Asawinso Awuah Memorial Park and Sefwi Asafo Ramos Park were approved to host the 2020/21 Division II league.
However, Hooliganism has been affecting Sefwi football to even cause the abrupt end of the league some time ago and not attracting sponsorship henceforth clubs are willing for companies to sponsor them.
Chairman Yeboah advised supporters to outdoor good behaviour to avoid hooliganism so as the club officials.
The General Secretary of the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Football Association, Prince Ahmed and the Communication Director Meshack Nkrumah accompanied the chairman to embark on this tour.
Seven clubs will participate in this year’s Regional Division II league in Sefwi Wiawso Municipality; thus Western Jet (Punikrom), Nationals (Boako), Yahweh FC (Asafo), Anokye Stars (Asawinso), Kofis FC (Asawinso), Freedom Fighters (Benchemaa) and Rocky stars (Benchemaa – Nkatieso).
