Sefwi Wiawso MP expresses heartfelt gratitude to constituents

Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, the Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso, has extended his sincere thanks to the people of Sefwi Wiawso, the entire Western North Region, and all fellow Ghanaians for their unwavering support and unity during recent challenges.

The expression of gratitude follows a tense episode on Monday, July 22, when Dr. Afriyie, representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was held in contempt of the chair by the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.

The Speaker deemed some of Dr. Afriyie’s comments rude, leading to his removal from the House. This action sparked protests from some NPP members in the Sefwi-Wiawso constituency, who expressed discontent with the Speaker’s decision.

In an official statement from his office, Dr. Afriyie described the support from his constituents as “truly inspiring” and emphasized that the solidarity shown reflects a deep bond of trust and mutual respect.
