The Paramount Chief of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area, Katakyie Kwasi Bumangamah II, undertook a day-long working tour to inspect selected ongoing projects in the Sefwi Wiawso municipality of the Western North Region.

Accompanied by some Chiefs and NPP party executives, Katakyie Kwasi Bumangamah II visited several key projects, including the Nsuonsuo to Ayilekrom road project, which has received its first tarred road, the Dwinase market phase 1 & 2, the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II girls’ dormitory for SEWASS, and the SEWASS new entrance projects.

During the tour, His Royal Majesty familiarized himself with the progress made in the construction of these projects and expressed his satisfaction with the work done so far.

His Royal Majesty commended the government and the contractors for their efforts, noting that these projects mark significant milestones for the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality and the Western North Region since its creation.

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal engineer, Mr. John Kingsford Sagoe, who briefed His Royal Majesty and his entourage about the Dwinase Market project, explained that the project was awarded to three different contractors with duration of eight months.

He mentioned that the first and second phases of the project have been completed, with the third phase currently underway. This phase includes the construction of 11 market sheds, 56 lockable stores, a police station, and a 14-seater water closet KVIP.

Mr. Sagoe expressed confidence in the completion of the project by the end of the year.

The residents of Ayilekrom, who have already benefited from the first tarred road, expressed their gratitude to Nana Addo and the NPP government. They also appealed to the contractor to expedite the completion of the second and third phases of the project.
