Super Middle League: Holy Stars defeat Adjoafuaman to reach semis

Basake Holy Stars has secured qualification to the semi-Finals of the Western Region Division Two Super Middle League after defeating Adjoafuaman Football Club in the opener of the tournament.

The Bia West Champions suffered a 5-1 surprising defeat to the Hon Simon Ehomah’s side at Crosby Awuah Memorial Park this Saturday morning.

Holy Stars took the lead in the 3rd minute through a corner kick to give the home side a hope.

Adjoafuaman after conceding an early goal came in strongly to detect the paste of the game, getting few chances including one-on-one situation to get an equalizer but their strikers squander those opportunities.

After recess, Basake Holy Stars returned to the game to record their second goal on the 47th minute whilst three minute later, Adjoafuaman had a consolation.

‘The Power Boys’ who usually plays on green grass dominated the game despite playing on artificial turf.

Players on the side were eager to equalize but double substitution from their technical team redraw their fighting spirit.

Later in the game, Holy Stars recovered and counter on their weakness to secure four additional goals to book a place in the semifinals.
