Ogyeahohoo Yaw Gyebi II, President of the National House of Chiefs cum Paramount Chief of Anwhiaso Traditional Area, has called on Ghanaians to support the forestry commission’s decision to plant five million trees on June 11, 2021.
Speaking to the media at the Anhwiaso Palace, he indicated that the activities of galamseyers, mining companies and chainsaw operators had affected the Nations vegetation cover and that was the only way to make Ghana green again.
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II said he will supply five thousand trees on the said date and called on the general public to participate in the tree planting exercise.
He is also of the view that one person should at least plant between five to ten trees on that day.
The traditional ruler also suggested that all the various communities should hold communal labour on the said date to plant the targeted five (5) million trees.
