The new maternity block at the Sefwi Wiawso Government Hospital intended to provide maternal services to the people of Sefwi Wiawso and the entire Western North region has been left junky despite the stage of completion.

This has raised the concerns of both the residents and opinion leaders due to the challenges many women face when they need maternal services at the facility.

Ebenezer Adu Yeboah ( NDC Zonal Chairman, Sefwi Asawinso)

On this, Sefwi Asawinso Zonal Chairman for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ebenezer Adu Yeboah, has called on the Municipal Chief Executive of the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality, Hon. Louis Owusu Agyapong and the Municipal Health Directorate to urgently attend to the abandoned project for its completion.

Adu Yeboah, who would also be contesting for the Sefwi Wiawso Constituency Youth Organizer position in the upcoming NDC constituency executive elections in an exclusive interview with Sefwinews.com expressed his worry on why the project has been abandoned for five years.

According to him, the former MP for the constituency, Hon. Paul Evans Aidoo and the NDC government commenced the construction of the project to ease the burden on the authorities and clients of the facility.

He said since the exit of Hon. Aidoo and the NDC government in the 2016 General elections, the project has been left stalled by the NPP government.

He stated that the project was not meant to honour a political party but intended to provide the people with good healthcare.

“Therefore, the MCE and the government should immediately come to the aid of the people,” Ebenezer Adu Yeboah told Sefwinews.com.

The Sefwi Asawinso Zonal Chairman said abandoning projects initiated and commenced by a different government is one of the major challenges of the Ghanaian leadership.

He urged the people and all stakeholders to rise for accountability and good governance to improve the living standards of the people in the municipality and that could ensure the completion of all abandoned projects.
