“Vote for Blay and Dr. Bawumia for greater dev’t” – Samira to Bia West (Audio/Video)

The Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Her Excellency Samira Bawumia, has called on the people of Bia West to embrace change and support the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) development agenda by voting for Bernard Gyebi Blay and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 elections.

During her visit to the Bia West District in the Western North region, Samira Bawumia emphasized the need for a shift in political support after 32 years of consistent allegiance to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which she claimed has not led to substantial development in the area.

Expressing her gratitude for the warm reception from the residents, Samira Bawumia said, “I want to extend a huge thank you for your patience in waiting for me from the afternoon till now. I am truly grateful. We can win this battle.”

She highlighted the stagnation in development under the NDC, stating, “You have given this seat to the NDC since 1992, which is 32 years now, and Bia West has not seen significant development. This time, the NPP is determined to take this seat, and we believe it is achievable.”

Samira Bawumia underscored the NPP’s commitment to innovation and progress, noting past achievements such as the introduction of free Senior High School (SHS) education, which she defended against earlier skepticism.

“We are a government of innovation; we bring new things to ensure development for Ghanaians. When we promised free SHS, people doubted us, but the results speak for themselves.”

She also highlighted ongoing and future initiatives under the NPP, including plans by Dr. Bawumia to train one million IT personnel and various policies aimed at advancing the country’s technological landscape.

“We introduced the Ghana card, which allows us to buy electricity from the comfort of our homes, among other innovations, all thanks to Dr. Bawumia.”

In her closing remarks, Samira Bawumia made a fervent plea to the electorate, saying, “I urge you to vote for Bernard Gyebi Blay alongside Dr. Bawumia. Together, we can bring more development to Bia West.”

Benjamin Armah, the Western North Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), addressed the issue of past election losses in the Bia West Constituency.

Reflecting on his own experiences as a parliamentary candidate, he noted that the NPP has faced defeat in every election—both presidential and parliamentary—in the constituency.

Benjamin Armah highlighted the long-standing loyalty of Bia West to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) but pointed out that this allegiance has not translated into significant development for the area.

He urged the people of Bia West to reconsider their support and vote for Bernard Gyebi Blay and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, asserting that a change in leadership could bring the much-needed development to the constituency under the NPP’s vision.
