The Western North Development Association (WENDA) is calling for greater representation of the Western Region in key national government positions.
The association has urged Western North National Democratic Congress (NDC) members to take bold steps in advocating for positions such as Cabinet Ministers, CEOs of major institutions, and Ambassadors under the next administration.
Dr. Tony Tsina Addai, President of WENDA, emphasized that it is time for people from the Western North to rise to prominent positions in the country.
He pointed out that, historically, Western North have been relegated to deputy ministerial and lesser roles, which has hindered the region’s overall development.
“It is time for our Western North NDC members to boldly approach the President Elect and advocate for significant roles in government. No more settling for Deputy Minister roles; it’s time to elevate our ambitions. Rise up, Western North NDC members,” Dr. Addai passionately stated.
WENDA’s call is part of a broader effort to bridge the development gap in the region. The association believes that by increasing the number of Western North representatives in key national positions, the region will be able to benefit from more focused development initiatives and increased investments, which are vital for the region’s growth and progress.
As the Western North looks ahead to the future, WENDA continues to push for equitable representation and inclusion to ensure that the region’s potential is fully realized on the national stage.
