Nations FC head coach, Kasim Ocansey Mingle, has shared his thoughts ahead of their crucial Ghana Premier League clash with Asante Kotoko.

The Abrankese-based side is set to host the Porcupine Warriors on Sunday in a highly anticipated matchday 28 fixture at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

With both teams eager to secure all three points, the encounter promises to be an exciting showdown.

Kotoko, who suffered a 3-0 defeat to Accra Lions in midweek action, have dropped to third place on the league table with 47 points. Nations FC, on the other hand, moved up to second place after matchday 27 with 48 points.

In an interview with Akoma FM, the former Bechem United coach acknowledged the challenge ahead but expressed confidence in his team’s abilities.

“Kotoko is returning to Kumasi after a tough loss to Accra Lions. They are like our senior brothers, and this venue (Abrankese) is practically a second home for them. It will be a tough battle, but we are determined to maintain our current momentum. It won’t be easy, but the stronger side will carry the day,” he said.

He also emphasized that while Kotoko might have more experienced players, Nations FC is not intimidated.

“In the first leg, we faced the likes of Albert Amoah and others, and we still came out victorious. They may have big names, but we also have quality players here. We respect Kotoko, but we do not fear them,” Mingle added.

“Kotoko may have a more seasoned squad, but in football, anything can happen. I always say the better team on the day will win.”
