Court strikes out case against IPMC executive chairman, associate

An Accra Circuit Court has struck out the case against Mr Amardeep Singh Hari, Executive Chairman of IPMC, and Mr Sannamdeep Singh Hari after the prosecution withdrew the charges against them.

A certified court document made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), titled: The Republic v. Amardeep Singh Hari and Sannamdeep Singh Hari, stated: “The charges are withdrawn as prayed by the prosecution. The case is struck out as withdrawn and the accused persons discharged.”

The prosecution withdrew the charges following advice from the Attorney-General.

The two had been accused by Ms Niharika Handa, a former business partner, and complainant in the case, of alleged gold theft.

They denied the allegations.

When the case was called on June 11, 2026, Inspectors George Defia and Fuseini Ayuba, who represented the Republic, prayed the court to withdraw the matter based on the Attorney-General’s advice.

They informed the court that the advice, dated May 29, 2026, had been filed and placed on the court docket, adding that all parties had been duly notified.

The complainant was represented by Mr Varun Sharma.
