The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is expected to resume mediation efforts between the two feuding factions in the long-standing Bawku conflict today, April 28, 2025.

The mediation sessions will take place from April 28 to May 1, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

This move follows a recent reaffirmation by President John Mahama to continue supporting the peace process led by the Asantehene, as part of broader national efforts to restore stability to the troubled region.

All stakeholders have been urged to fully cooperate with the peace process, emphasising that the goal is to find a lasting resolution to the crisis.

The upcoming mediation sessions are expected to involve key leaders from the rival factions, along with other relevant stakeholders, all meeting under the guidance of the Asantehene at the Manhyia Palace.
