Dr. Gideon Brenya Agyapong Wins NPP Western North Regional Youth Organiser Race

Dr. Gideon Brenya Agyapong has been elected the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Western North Regional Youth Organiser after winning the regional election held on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

Dr. Agyapong secured 152 votes to defeat his contender, Kwabena Asiedu Amankwa, who polled 43 votes.

The result gives Dr. Agyapong a clear mandate to lead the party’s youth wing in the Western North Region and spearhead efforts to mobilise young people and strengthen the party’s grassroots structures.

Following his victory, Dr. Agyapong expressed appreciation to God and the delegates for the confidence reposed in him.

In a message shared on Facebook cited by Sefwinews after the election, he thanked the delegates for believing in him and entrusting him with the responsibility of serving as Regional Youth Organiser.

“I am deeply grateful to God and to every delegate who believed in me and entrusted me with the responsibility of serving as your Western North Regional Youth Organizer.”

He said the victory belonged to everyone and pledged to serve with humility, commitment and dedication.

“This victory belongs to all of us. I promise to serve with humility, commitment and dedication. Together, we will build a stronger and more united youth front.”

Dr. Agyapong also thanked the delegates for their confidence and signalled his readiness to begin work.

“Thank you for the confidence. The work begins!”

His election comes as the NPP continues efforts to strengthen its grassroots structures and deepen youth participation in the party’s activities across the Western North Region.

Dr. Agyapong is expected to work with the regional and constituency youth structures to promote unity, mobilise young members and strengthen the party’s presence among the youth across the region.
