𝗘𝗖 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗗𝗖𝗘 𝗡𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗡𝗥

The Electoral Commission has released the official schedule for the confirmation of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executive (MMDCE) nominees in the Western North Region.

The process is set to begin on Monday, April 7, 2025, and will conclude on Friday, April 11, 2025.

The confirmation process, which will take place in the various districts and municipalities, is a crucial step in approving the nominees who will assume leadership roles in local governance.

Assembly members will vote to either approve or reject the nominees, as stipulated by the Constitution.

Below is the detailed schedule along with the respective nominees:

Monday, April 7:

  • Bodi District – 8:30 AM (Nominee: Stephen Baidoo)
  • Akontombra District – 1:30 PM (Nominee: Joseph Appiah)

Tuesday, April 8:

  • Bia West District – 8:30 AM (Nominee: Annor Matthew)
  • Bia East District – 1:30 PM (Nominee: Francis Amankwah)

Wednesday, April 9:

  • Juaboso District – 8:30 AM (Nominee: Alexander Adu Quist)
  • Sefwi Wiawso Municipality – 1:30 PM (Nominee: Dominic Gyasi)

Thursday, April 10:

  • Aowin Municipality – 8:30 AM (Nominee: Stephen Morcher)
  • Suaman District – 1:30 PM (Nominee: Vasco Obour)

Friday, April 11:

  • Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality – 8:30 AM (Nominee: Sebastian Obeng)

The Electoral Commission urges all stakeholders, including assembly members, traditional leaders, and the general public, to take note of the schedule and participate as required.

Observers anticipate a keen interest in the confirmations, given the significant role MMDCEs play in regional development. Further updates will be provided as the confirmation process unfolds.
