The Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) has constituted an internal team to probe the death of a patient who was referred to the facility.

The team is tasked with thoroughly examining the circumstances surrounding the incident, it announced in a statement.

This is in response to reports circulating on social media concerning the unfortunate death of a patient at the Accident and Emergency Ward.

According to the preliminary findings by the Management of the medical facility, the said patient was referred from another facility and required a specialized procedure that is not yet available at TTH.

Additionally, it said all four of the facility’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds, which serve the entire Northern Ghana, were fully occupied at the time of the patient’s arrival.

“While we acknowledge and understand the public’s concern, we respectfully urge all stakeholders to remain calm and avoid drawing premature conclusions.”

The Hospital noted that it is committed to full transparency and will communicate the outcome of the investigation to the public once concluded.

It further reaffirmed its dedication to delivering quality healthcare.
