A young man in Guli in the Wa municipality has been sentenced to seven years in prison for defiling a 13-year-old girl.
Mohammed Abudi pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared in Wa circuit court. On April 23, 2025, His Lordship Jonathan Avoogo handed him the sentence after his guilty plea.
A statement released by the police on April 29, 2025 said Abudi committed the crime on April 11, 2025 and was apprehended by the Upper West Regional Command on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
The Regional Command further cautioned potential offenders, urging them to stay away from such crimes.
