The National Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that its Ad Hoc Committee, established to oversee the conduct of the partyโs presidential campaigns, has officially commenced work.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, October 9, the Council called on all aspiring presidential candidates, their campaign teams, and party supporters to fully cooperate with the Committee and adhere to the principles of respect, discipline, and issue-based campaigning.
The Committee, chaired by Ing. Dr. Kwasi Abeasi, is tasked with monitoring the public actions, statements, and engagements of presidential aspirants and their teams. The aim is to maintain internal peace and unity ahead of the NPPโs presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026.
โAll members of the Party, supporters, and the general public are encouraged that if they come across any utterance, conduct, or social media post โ by any candidate, spokesperson, or campaign team member โ that is deemed offensive, divisive, or capable of inciting disunity within the Party, they should promptly refer the matter to the Committee,โ the statement said.
The Council stressed that the unity and cohesion of the NPP remain of utmost importance, not only during the primaries but throughout the lead-up to the 2028 general elections.
โAll aspirants and their teams are advised to be mindful of their statements and actions during the campaign period,โ the Council warned.
โLet us all work together in the spirit of discipline, respect, and solidarity to ensure a peaceful and united NPP ready for victory in 2028.โ
