The Member of Parliament for Bia West Constituency, Mustapha Tanko Amadu, has donated 20 modern hospital beds to the Bia West District Health Directorate to support healthcare delivery in the district.
The donation, which was done on Saturday, June 14, 2025, on his behalf by the District Chief Executive, Mathew Annor, together with the NDC Constituency Chairman, Nana Ahmed Ibrahim, and Administrative Assistant, Awini Michael Atiiga, fulfills one of the MP’s key campaign promises to improve conditions in Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compounds across the district.

Speaking during the presentation, Mathew Annor noted that the donation reflects the MP’s dedication to addressing the pressing needs of the health sector in Bia West.
“This gesture fulfills one of his key campaign promises to improve healthcare in CHPS compounds across the Bia West district,” he said.
He added, “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to him for this thoughtful initiative. The people of Bia West truly appreciate his commitment to enhancing their well-being. This donation will undoubtedly make a significant impact on healthcare delivery in our community.”

The Member of Parliament for Bia West Constituency, Mustapha Tanko Amadu, in a statement, recalled the poor conditions he saw when he visited several CHPS compounds during his campaign and post-election thank you tour.
“What I saw was deeply concerning. Many of these facilities lacked adequate hospital beds, and some of the existing ones were in such poor condition that they posed more danger than relief to patients. It became clear to me that something had to be done,” he said.
The Member of Parliament expressed deep hope and confidence that the donation of the hospital beds would significantly improve healthcare services in the district.
“It is my sincere belief that this support will go a long way in improving healthcare delivery and saving lives in our district. As we continue to work together for a better Bia West, I remain committed to ensuring that no one is left behind, especially in matters of health and wellbeing.”
The District Health Directorate expressed gratitude for the timely support, noting that the new hospital beds will help strengthen healthcare service delivery in the area.
