𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶 𝗞𝘄𝗮𝘄𝘂 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆

Nana Tano Kabaah II, Chief of Enchi Kwawu in the Aowin Municipality of the Western North Region, has commissioned a newly constructed police station to enhance security and promote development in his community.

The facility, fully funded and built through the chief’s personal resources, was officially handed over to the Ghana Police Service during a ceremony led by the Western North Regional Police Commander, DCOP Dr. Francis Kwame Tsidi.

Speaking at the event, Nana Tano Kabaah II said the decision to build the station was motivated by his vision to create a safe and attractive environment for investors and residents.

He emphasized that security is a vital foundation for development and expressed hope that the presence of the police would help reduce criminal activities in the area.

“Without security, there can be no meaningful progress. Even though some people resisted the idea initially, I believed in the long-term benefit and remained focused on completing this project.”

He called on the police to maintain the facility well and appealed to the Inspector General of Police to consider qualified youth from Enchi Kwawu during future recruitment exercises.

The Western North Regional Police Commander, DCOP Dr. Francis Kwame Tsidi, praised the Chief of Kwawu for his remarkable and selfless contribution towards enhancing security in the area.

He reiterated the Ghana Police Service’s dedication to upholding professionalism in all its operations.

Dr. Tsidi stressed that the primary responsibility of the police is to safeguard the community and ensure peace—not to instill fear among citizens.

He called on residents of Kwawu to build strong ties with the police by volunteering accurate and timely information to help combat crime effectively.

He gave the assurance that the newly commissioned police station would be well maintained to benefit future generations and promised strict supervision of officers assigned to the station to maintain high standards of conduct.

Additionally, he mentioned that the police administration would offer opportunities to qualified local youth during upcoming recruitment drives, promoting local participation in national policing.

Stephen Morcher, Aowin MCE.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Aowin, Mr. Stephen Morcher, praised Nana Tano Kabaah II for investing his personal resources to strengthen national security in the community.

He described the initiative as a remarkable display of visionary leadership and a strong dedication to peace and progress.

Mr. Morcher also encouraged residents to view the police as partners in development and to support them by sharing timely and relevant information to help uphold law and order.

The Western North Regional Minister, Mr. Wilbert Petty Brentum, commended the initiative, emphasizing that the new police station will play a crucial role in curbing crime in Enchi Kwahu and neighboring communities.

He recognized the challenges residents endure because of the deteriorating Enchi–Elubo road and assured them that the government has prioritized its rehabilitation under the Big Push Agenda for immediate action.

To further support the operations at the new facility, the Regional Minister presented two air-conditioners to enhance the comfort and working environment for the police officers.

Residents of Enchi Kwahu also expressed their gratitude and praised Nana Tano Kabaah II for his selfless commitment to improving security in the area, acknowledging that the new police station is a valuable asset that will bring lasting benefits to the community.
