The Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso, Kofi Benteh Afful, has once again demonstrated his strong commitment to education and youth empowerment by absorbing passport application fees totaling over GH₵270,000 for all 2026 BECE candidates in the constituency.
This initiative covers more than 3,000 candidates from over 105 public and private junior high schools across the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality, ensuring that no student is left behind due to financial challenges.
Each candidate was initially required to pay GH₵90 for passport processing, but the MP’s intervention has completely lifted that burden off parents and guardians.
In a statement, Kofi Benteh Afful emphasized that the gesture reflects his belief that no child’s future should be limited by financial constraints.
“This small gesture is a reflection of my deep belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to pursue their dreams, and it is our collective responsibility to remove the barriers that stand in their way,” he said.
He further commended parents, teachers, and students for their continuous efforts toward academic excellence and encouraged all 2026 BECE candidates to stay focused and determined.
“To our future leaders writing the BECE in 2026 and beyond—keep pushing forward. We believe in you,” he added.
Kofi Benteh Afful reaffirmed his commitment to implementing more educational support initiatives to strengthen the foundation of learning and development in the Sefwi Wiawso Constituency.
His intervention has been widely praised by education stakeholders and community members, who see it as a timely and impactful step toward reducing the financial pressure on families while promoting access to quality education.
