Debiso-based Soccer Lions Football Club will face Tarkwa United in the preliminary round of the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup.
This marks a significant milestone for the Bia West Division Two champions, who are participating in the FA Cup for the first time since the tournament’s inception in 2021.
The competition offers them a major opportunity to test their strength against some of the best clubs in the country and gain national recognition.
Having impressed in recent regional campaigns, Soccer Lions have gradually built a solid reputation within the Western North football landscape.
The club has made two appearances in the Western Regional Super Middle League, where they showcased determination, teamwork, and a strong sense of ambition.
Speaking ahead of the fixture, the club’s management expressed excitement about the draw and confidence in their players’ ability to deliver a competitive performance.
“This is a proud moment for Soccer Lions and for the entire Bia West District. We have worked hard over the years, and this qualification is a testament to our growth. We are going to Tarkwa to compete, not just to participate,” a club official said.
The MTN FA Cup remains one of Ghana’s most prestigious football competitions, offering lower-division clubs the rare opportunity to challenge top-tier teams from the Premier and Division One Leagues.
