The 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Sefwi Wiawso, Festus Bumakama Agyapong, has paid a courtesy visit to the former President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, at his office in Accra.
The meeting, described as fruitful and successful, focused on discussions about the developmental progress of the Western North Region, one of the newly created regions under President Akufo-Addo’s administration, and the Sefwi Wiawso Project — a strategic initiative aimed at positioning Sefwi Wiawso as a model city capable of competing with already developed areas in Ghana.
Festus Bumakama Agyapong was accompanied by his brother, Nana Brenya, during the visit. Both brothers, who are sons of the Paramount Chief of the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council, Katakyie Kwasi Bumangamah II, share a deep passion for the development of their homeland and remain committed to seeing Sefwi Wiawso and the entire Western North Region progress.
Festus Buma expressed his appreciation to the former President for his visionary leadership, particularly for granting the Western North Region its regional status.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the NPP’s ideals and pledged to work tirelessly to advance development across Sefwi Wiawso and the region at large.
He further explained that his visit was to seek guidance and blessings from the former President — regarded as one of the great godfathers of the NPP — and to deliver a farewell message to him as the immediate past President of the Republic.
He emphasized that the Sefwi Wiawso Project remains a top priority on his development agenda, focusing on modern infrastructure, job creation, and empowerment programs that will help Sefwi Wiawso rise to national prominence.
“When the grace of God is upon your life, and the godfather’s arms are strong behind you, no weapon formed against you shall prosper,” Festus Bumakama Agyapong said, expressing confidence in the bright future ahead for Sefwi Wiawso.
Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo commended Festus Bumakama Agyapong for his dedication and zeal to drive positive change within his constituency.
He extended his warm greetings to the chiefs, elders, and people of Sefwi Wiawso and the Western North Region, urging them to stay united and continue believing in the NPP’s vision for development.
The meeting concluded on a high note, strengthening the bond between the former President and the NPP leadership in the Western North Region, as both men shared a common vision of progress, unity, and prosperity for Sefwi Wiawso and Ghana as a whole.
