A self-acclaimed Mallam and suspected armed robber, Victor Biney, popularly known as Mallam, Nana, or Abeiku, has been arrested by the Juaboso District Police Command for allegedly leading a violent attack and attempted robbery on miners at Sehwi Antobia in the Juaboso District.
According to police reports, Biney and his gang stormed a mining site in the area to rob miners of their valuables. Acting on a swift tip-off, police officers moved to the scene and succeeded in arresting the group leader, while the others fled.
A search conducted by the police led to the retrieval of talismans, a firearm, AAA cartridges, torchlights, knives, and several other items believed to have been used in the gang’s operations.

Further investigations revealed that the suspect is allegedly connected to multiple robbery incidents across the district. He is also said to have a pending robbery case at the Bibiani Circuit Court, with judgment scheduled for December 9, 2025.
Reports also suggest he was involved in initiating young men into money rituals and so-called “black powers,” claimed to offer protection against gun and cutlass attacks.
Security sources further link Biney to a daylight robbery that occurred at Juaboso about two years ago, during which one person was shot dead and a large sum of money was stolen from a wholesale shop.
After his arrest, Biney was arraigned before the Juaboso Magistrate’s Court, where he was remanded into police custody for two weeks to assist with ongoing investigations.
Police are still pursuing the remaining gang members and have urged the public to provide any information that may lead to their arrest.
