The Wiawso Kyidomhenе Foundation, under the leadership of Nana Elluo Panyin III, Chief of Sefwi Nsuonsua and Kyidomhenе of the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area, is set to extend its humanitarian support to more than 500 widows and orphans through its annual Time with Widows and Orphans programme scheduled for Wednesday, December 30, 2026.
The programme, which is expected to bring together beneficiaries from several communities within the Nsuonsua area, will take place at the Nsuonsua Durbar Ground from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The initiative forms part of the foundation’s commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals, particularly widows and orphaned children, by providing essential items and access to basic healthcare services during the Christmas and New Year festive season.
More than 500 widows and orphans from eight communities are expected to benefit from the programme. The communities include Nsuonsua, Ayirekrom, Anglo, Nsonyameye, Baakonkа, Kwambour, Krobom and Kwabena Oforikrom.
As part of the activities lined up for the event, beneficiaries will receive free Christmas and New Year gifts intended to provide them with some relief and make the festive season more memorable.
In addition to the distribution of gifts, the foundation has arranged free health screening for participants to help them assess their health conditions and identify possible health concerns.
The programme will also provide free registration for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), an intervention expected to improve beneficiaries’ access to healthcare services by helping them obtain or renew their health insurance membership.

The combination of material assistance, health screening and NHIS registration is expected to make the outreach more meaningful, particularly for widows and orphaned children who may face financial difficulties in accessing essential services.
Nana Elluo Panyin, through the Wiawso Kyidomhenе Foundation, is expected to lead the initiative as part of efforts to bring members of the beneficiary communities together and demonstrate concern for their welfare.
Beyond the distribution of gifts, the Time with Widows and Orphans programme provides an opportunity to recognise the challenges faced by vulnerable members of society and encourage community participation in addressing their needs.
The foundation is also calling on individuals, organisations, corporate bodies and other benevolent members of the public to support the initiative through donations.
Items requested include rice, cooking oil, soap, books, pens and other essential supplies that could help improve the welfare of the beneficiaries.
The appeal is intended to encourage collective support towards making the programme successful and ensuring that more vulnerable people receive assistance during the festive period.
Individuals and organisations interested in making donations or seeking further information about the programme can contact the foundation through its information line on 0246 843 122.
