The Assembly Member for the Adjoafua Electoral Area in the Bia West District, Reindolf Afriyie, has donated improvised rope speed humps to help address the rising cases of road accidents in the Adjoafua community.
The donation, which took place on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, forms part of efforts to improve road safety and protect lives within the area.

Speaking in an interview after the presentation, Mr. Afriyie explained that the intervention had become necessary due to the increasing number of road crashes recorded in the community, some of which have led to tragic loss of lives.
According to him, the decision to procure the rope speed humps was driven by the urgent need to slow down speeding vehicles on key roads in Adjoafua, especially in areas with high pedestrian activity.

He further disclosed that the initiative was funded through his share of the recently paid five months’ arrears of assembly members’ allowances, with additional financial support from concerned members of the community.
In total, five rope speed humps have been acquired and are scheduled to be installed on selected roads within Adjoafua on Friday, March 20.
Road safety studies indicate that properly installed speed humps can significantly reduce vehicle speeds, lower the risk of accidents, and improve pedestrian safety, making such interventions crucial for growing communities like Adjoafua.
