Reports reaching Sefwinews indicate that respected sports journalist Kofi Champion of Angel 102.9 FM and Angel TV may soon be leaving sports journalism to venture into mainstream politics.
According to sources close to the broadcaster, Kofi Champion is preparing to contest for an internal executive position within a political party, a move that could bring an end to his active journalism career.
Although no official announcement has yet been made by the journalist, the development has generated discussions among media practitioners and sports followers, many of whom know him for his passionate sports analysis and broadcasting style.
If confirmed, the transition would mark a major turning point in Kofi Champion’s professional journey.
He joined Angel FM and Angel TV in October 2025 after leaving 7DS TV in Accra, where he had also built a reputation in sports broadcasting.
