Bernard Blay bows out as Bia West DCE

Bernard Gyebi Blay, the outgoing District Chief Executive (DCE) of Bia West, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Bia West for the opportunity to serve them.

In a Facebook post cited by Sefwinews, Bernard Blay reflected on his mandate, which expires tonight, and promised to continue working tirelessly for the development of Bia West, even after his tenure as DCE.

Bernard Blay’s legacy in Bia West is marked by numerous developmental projects, including the construction of the District Police Head Quarters, Yawmatwe Market, Essam Market pavement, and the District Assembly office.

He also oversaw the construction of classroom blocks and the first Astroturf in the Western North Region, which has become a hub for community engagement and development.

He played a significant role in providing direct employment opportunities to over 100 youth across various security agencies, including the police, military, immigration, fire service, and others.

He also made impactful donations to support various trades and livelihoods, providing sewing machines for tailors, dryers for hairdressers, and capital for individuals to start or expand their businesses. These contributions aimed to empower beneficiaries economically and promote self-sufficiency within the community.

Additionally, he extended his generosity to education and sports by donating essential equipment to promote athletic development and supporting the payment of tertiary school fees for students, including those affiliated with opposing political parties. His actions demonstrated a commitment to unity and progress beyond political affiliations.

As Blay bows out as DCE, he leaves behind a lasting impact on the lives of the people of Bia West. His dedication to the constituency’s growth and development has earned him a special place in the hearts of the community.

Despite his tenure coming to an end, Blay’s commitment to serving the people of Bia West remains unwavering, and he has pledged to continue working hard to ensure the constituency’s continued progress.

Below is his farewell message

Dear Bia West,
As I bid farewell to my role as District Chief Executive, a position I’ve been privileged to hold under the NPP government, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the NPP, Nananom, Staff and Assembly members of the Bia West District Assembly, the clergy, Muslim community, and each of you for the honor of serving our beloved district.

Your trust and support have meant the world to me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have made a positive impact on our community. Please know that my love and dedication for this district and its people will never waver. I will continue to serve and support you in my own way, just as I have always done, even before taking on the role of Chief Executive.

Thank you for being an integral part of my journey. I love and appreciate you all.

Sincerely,
Hon. Bernard Gyebi Blay
