GFA appoints Bibiani Goldstars Head Coach as Black Starlets Boss

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed the Head coach of Bibiani Goldstars, Frimpong Manso, as the new head coach of the Ghana U17 national team, Black Starlets.

This development marks a significant shift in the team’s leadership, as Frimpong Manso takes the reins from Laryea Kingston, who parted ways with the team during the Africa U17 Cup of Nations qualifiers in 2024.

Frimpong Manso’s appointment is a homecoming of sorts, as he previously held the position from 2009 to 2010. His wealth of experience, including stints as assistant coach for the Black Starlets and the Black Meteors, makes him an ideal candidate to steer the team back to success.

As a seasoned coach, Frimpong Manso has managed several top-tier clubs, including Asante Kotoko, Karela United, and Medeama SC. His expertise will be invaluable in shaping the Black Starlets into a formidable force.

The team’s recent struggles to qualify for the Africa U17 Championship have been a concern, but Frimpong Manso is determined to restore the Black Starlets to their former glory.

With his guidance, the team aims to reclaim its position as a dominant force in African and global football. Notably, the Black Starlets have a proud history, being the first Ghanaian national team to win a FIFA World Cup, with two U-17 titles under their belt.

Frimpong Manso’s appointment marks a new chapter in the team’s journey, and fans are eagerly anticipating a resurgence in the Black Starlets’ fortunes.
