NPP WNR Youth Organiser demands accountability from Okudzeto Ablakwa over Diplomatic Passports

Dr. Gideon Brenya Agyapong, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Western North Regional Youth Organiser, has demanded transparency and accountability from Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, over concerns surrounding the issuance and use of Ghanaian diplomatic passports.

Dr. Agyapong, in a statement posted on Facebook and cited by Sefwinews, said Ghanaians are demanding clear and satisfactory answers from the Minister regarding concerns surrounding diplomatic passports through the planned ‘Yɛgye Yɛ Sika’ demonstration.

He maintained that the demonstration was a platform for citizens to demand accountability from public officials and insist on transparency in matters of national interest.

“We, the people of Ghana, are demanding transparency and accountability from Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa over concerns surrounding Ghanaian diplomatic passports,” he stated.

He said through the ‘Yɛgye Yɛ Sika’ demonstration, Ghanaians were calling on the Minister to provide clear and satisfactory answers to the questions surrounding the issuance and use of diplomatic passports.

Dr. Agyapong further called on the Minister to take responsibility and resign if the concerns raised were established.

“We also demand that he takes responsibility and resigns if the concerns raised are established,” he added.

The NPP Regional Youth Organiser stressed that citizens deserved answers, transparency and accountability from those entrusted with public office, regardless of their positions in government.

He further emphasised that Ghana belonged to all citizens and that no individual should be considered above public accountability.

“As citizens, we deserve answers, transparency and accountability from those entrusted with public office. Ghana belongs to all of us, and nobody should be above accountability,” he said.
