Sefwi Wiawso MP donates health consumables worth GH¢400K to strengthen healthcare

Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, the Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso in the Western North Region, has donated health consumables valued at GH₵400,000 to the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Health Directorate.

This generous contribution aims to improve healthcare delivery and address critical resource needs in the municipality.

The donation, handed over during a brief ceremony at the Municipal Health Directorate, comprises essential medical supplies, including Hospital beds and mattresses, Fetal Doppler, Refrigerator, Laptop computers, Air conditioner, Delivery set, Dressing set, HB meters, Conference room chairs, Office chairs, Autoclave, Nebuliser, Infant scales, Centrifuge, Spectrophotometers, Water bath, Stethoscope, Digital, sphygmomanometer, and Aneroid sphyg.

These supplies are expected to strengthen the capacity of healthcare facilities to provide quality medical care to residents.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie reiterated his dedication to supporting the health sector in his constituency.

He highlighted the significance of providing healthcare workers with the necessary resources to perform their duties effectively.

“This donation reflects my unwavering commitment to improving the health and well-being of my constituents. I am confident these supplies will enhance the services provided by our health professionals,” he stated.

Dr. Afriyie, who previously served as the Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, further emphasized the need for collaborative efforts in the health sector.

He urged other stakeholders, including corporate entities and community leaders, to contribute towards the sustainable development of healthcare infrastructure in rural areas.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Municipal Health Directorate, the acting Municipal Health Director, Dr. Isaac Tetteyfio, expressed profound gratitude for the support.

He noted that the donation was timely, given the increasing demands on healthcare facilities in the municipality. “This assistance will go a long way in addressing some of the pressing challenges we face in delivering quality healthcare to our people,” he said.

However, Dr. Afriyie was accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso, Louis Owusu Agyapog, NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Sefwi Wiawso, Festus Bumankama Agyapong, Benjamin Oppong, for NPP Constituency Secretary, Dr. Kwame Afriyie, CEO of Green Shield Hospital and Former NPP Constituency Chairman, Michael Kwarteng.
