Black Princesses midfielder Fatimata Fuseini has undergone a successful navel surgery at the Police Hospital in Accra, funded by the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Medical Fund.

The Northern Ladies player, formerly of Hasaacas Ladies, had been struggling with a painful protruding navel, which limited her training and performance.

The surgery was carried out on February 1, followed by a medical review a few days later. “I kept vomiting and feeling pains, but now I can train without pain,” Fuseini said. “I thank the GFA and President Simeon-Okraku for the support.”

The procedure was made possible through the GFA Medical Fund, which was set up by the current administration to assist national team players needing surgery due to injuries sustained during duty.

Fuseini has resumed training and is expected to rejoin the Black Princesses fully.
