𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗯 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗺𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻

The Northern Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with an alleged weapon smuggling operation in Savelugu, following an intelligence-led operation carried out on May 1, 2025.

The suspects — identified as Gaba Abdallah Alhassan, Alhassan Abdallah, and Alhassan Abdul Kudus — were apprehended from their respective hideouts during a targeted police operation aimed at cracking down on illegal arms trade in the region.

During the arrest, law enforcement officers retrieved a cache of weapons and ammunition. The items include one AK-47 rifle, one submachine gun (SMG), a Smith & Wesson SD40 VE pistol, and a single-barrel gun.

Also recovered were two magazines, fifteen rounds of AK-47 ammunition, thirteen rounds of pistol ammunition, twenty-seven additional rounds of ammunition, and five rounds of BB cartridges.

The suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations.

According to the police, the individuals will be processed through the legal system and made to face justice in accordance with the law.

The Northern Regional Police Command has reiterated its commitment to ensuring public safety and called on residents to provide timely information to aid in the fight against illegal arms circulation.
