The Ghanaian football community has been thrown into deep mourning following the shocking and brutal murder of a rising young football administrator and entrepreneur, Jonas Sena Dorho.

The tragic incident occurred on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, turning what is traditionally a solemn and reflective day into one of the darkest moments in recent memory for Ghanaian football.

Jonas Sena Dorho was the owner of Nkoranza Adehyea FC, a Division Two club based in the Bono East Region, and a passionate entrepreneur in the agribusiness sector.

He was the founder of Jon-Dor Ventures, a company that specialized in the sale of Ammonium Sulphate, a popular fertilizer.

Described by friends, colleagues, and stakeholders in football as visionary, ambitious, and deeply committed to youth empowerment, Sena had big dreams of elevating his club to the Ghana Premier League.

His dedication and hard work were already paying off, with Nkoranza Adehyea FC steadily gaining recognition across the Bono East Region and beyond for its role in grassroots football development.

According to exclusive sources from the Nkoranza Municipal Football Association, Sena was murdered on his own farmland under mysterious circumstances. The assailants remain unknown, and the motive behind the attack is yet to be determined.

His lifeless body was discovered shortly after the incident, leaving family members, friends, and the local football community in shock and sorrow.

“He was killed on his own farm on Friday, April 18, which was Good Friday. We are all in deep sorrow now,” a source from the Municipal FA revealed.

The Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association (BARFA) and the Nkoranza Municipal Football Association have both confirmed the tragic death. In a statement, BARFA expressed heartfelt condolences to Sena’s family and the entire Nkoranza Adehyea FC fraternity:

“BARFA mourns with the entire Nkoranza Adehyea FC family for the tragic loss of the team owner. Our prayers and thoughts are with the team and the family during this difficult time.”

Those who knew Jonas Sena Dorho describe him as a self-made man who strongly believed in using football as a tool to transform the lives of young people. Through Nkoranza Adehyea FC, he mentored and nurtured numerous local talents, helping them pursue professional careers in football.

“He was one of the brightest young minds in Ghanaian football administration. He had vision, drive, and above all, he cared about the people,” said a close associate who preferred to remain anonymous. “His death is not just a loss to his family, but to the future of football in this country.”

In the wake of this devastating incident, there are widespread calls for the Ghana Police Service to intensify investigations and bring the perpetrators to justice. Community leaders in Nkoranza have urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies.

A formal statement from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is expected in the coming days to address the tragic loss.

As the football fraternity across Ghana comes to terms with the death of Jonas Sena Dorho, attention must now shift towards justice, healing, and taking collective action to ensure that such heinous crimes do not become a recurring nightmare.
