The Government of Ghana has announced a GHยข400 increment in the producer price of cocoa for the 2025/2026 season.
The decision, approved by the Producer Price Review Committee (PPRC) and announced by the Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, raises the price of a 64kg bag of cocoa from GHยข3,228.75 to GHยข3,625. This translates into GHยข58,000 per tonne.
Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, October 2, 2025, Dr. Forson explained that the upward adjustment was necessary to keep Ghanaโs farm-gate prices competitive in the global cocoa market.
He noted that the move follows a similar decision by neighbouring Ivory Coast, which raised its producer price on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
โThis increment is part of governmentโs commitment to ensuring cocoa farmers in Ghana are fairly rewarded for their hard work and dedication,โ the Finance Minister stated.
