WENDA Supports BECE Candidates with over 500 Mathematical Sets in Western North

The Western North Development Association (WENDA) has extended a helping hand to final-year students by distributing 500 mathematical sets and pens to candidates preparing for the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Western North Region.

The exercise, spearheaded by the association’s President, Maxwell Baidoo, covered selected schools within the Sefwi Wiawso and Aowin Municipalities.

The initiative forms part of WENDA’s broader education support and career guidance programme aimed at empowering students and improving academic outcomes in the region.

Beneficiary schools in the Aowin Municipality included Roman Catholic School, Comey Memorial School, and Methodist School.

In the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality, the items were presented to students of Okumdom JHS, Presby JHS, Anglican JHS, Jak Ahwoi Memorial JHS, and Wiawso M/A JHS.

Addressing the students, Maxwell Baidoo emphasized the importance of supporting candidates as they prepare for their first major external examination.

He noted that providing essential examination materials is a practical way to boost their confidence and readiness.

He also highlighted the financial difficulties some students face, which can hinder their preparation, explaining that this informed WENDA’s decision to step in and offer assistance.

Mr. Baidoo further cautioned students against engaging in examination malpractice, warning that such actions could lead to the cancellation of their results and negatively impact their future.

He urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to their studies throughout the examination period.

The presentation was attended by key members of the association, including Joyce Kwateng, Joyce Armah, Emmanuella Aidoo, Emmanuella Owusu, Asare Kesse, Desmond Donkor, Emmanuel Adjei, Kamara, and Sanford, who all joined in encouraging the students ahead of their exams.
