Daniel Minta Kwarteng Declares Bid for NDC Sefwi Wiawso Constituency Chairmanship

Daniel Minta Kwarteng has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Sefwi Wiawso Constituency, promising to strengthen party unity and intensify grassroots mobilisation.

Announcing his decision, Kwarteng said his decision to seek the chairmanship is inspired by his years of dedicated service to the NDC, having served in various capacities, including Branch Secretary, Deputy Constituency Secretary, and Acting Constituency Secretary.

According to him, these leadership roles have shaped his understanding of responsibility, discipline, teamwork, and selfless service.

“That experience taught me responsibility, hard work, discipline, teamwork, and the true meaning of selfless service. The skills and knowledge I have acquired, coupled with this experience, inspire me to continue serving the party,” he said.

Kwarteng stressed that he believes leadership should be built on humility, passion, dedication, honesty, and respect.

He further pledged to work towards uniting the party and strengthening its grassroots structures if given the mandate by delegates.

“I have the conviction that good leaders serve with humility, passion, dedication, honesty, and respect. I am committed to party unity and effective grassroots mobilisation for party development,” he added.

Biography

Daniel Minta Kwarteng began his academic journey at Osei Tutu Senior High School, where he completed his secondary education in 2006.

He later enrolled at the University for Development Studies (UDS), earning a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Development Studies (Social and Development Administration Option) in 2012.

Driven by his passion for public administration and development, he returned to the same institution to obtain an MPhil in Social Administration in 2021.

His political journey within the National Democratic Congress spans more than a decade. He served as a Polling Agent during the 2012 and 2016 General Elections, before rising through the ranks to become Deputy Constituency Secretary from 2018 to 2022.

During the 2020 General Elections, he served as a Member of the Constituency Research Team, Polling Agent Trainer, and Coalition Agent, contributing to the party’s electoral activities.

Following this, he served as Acting Constituency Secretary from May to October 2022.

Beyond party politics, Kwarteng demonstrated leadership during his university days at UDS, Wa Campus, where he served as GRASAG Deputy Senate Speaker from 2018 to 2019 before being elected GRASAG Senate Speaker, a position he held from 2019 to 2020.

His academic achievements and extensive experience in student leadership and party administration have shaped his leadership credentials as he seeks to lead the NDC in the Sefwi Wiawso Constituency.
