Morgan Fassbender scores in Korona Kielce win over Wisla Plock

German-Ghanaian attacker Morgan Fassbender scored as Korona Kielce beat Wisla Plock 2-0 in the Ekstraklasa.

His close-range finish in the 21st minute, confirmed after a VAR review, gave Korona the lead and set the tone for an accomplished away display.

Korona had already looked dangerous before the breakthrough, with Martin Remacle testing the goalkeeper early and Fassbender himself coming close again later in the half. Wisla Plock also threatened, but Korona’s structure and sharper final ball made the difference.

The visitors doubled their advantage shortly after the restart when Mariusz Stepinski struck in the 49th minute, finishing a fast break assisted by Wiktor Dlugosz. From there, Korona controlled the tempo and managed the game with maturity.

Wisła Płock pushed forward in search of a reply, with Afonso Silva, Lukasz Sekulski and Zan Rogelj all getting chances, but Xavier Dziekonski stood firm in goal. Korona stayed compact, defended well and limited the hosts to frustrated efforts from distance and set pieces.

Korona Kielce will play Wisla Krakow in their next game on September 5th.
