Ghana head coach Charles Sampson has confirmed his final squad for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, naming a 21-member group for the tournament.
The squad includes three players with previous experience of the competition. Defender Alexandra Tay, forward Jennifer Dawah and goalkeeper Najat Abdul Salam are set to make another appearance at the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Najat Abdul Salam is joined in the goalkeeping group by Precious Akanguwie and Ruth Agudu Sebbie.
The defensive options selected by Sampson are Precious Asante, Ruby Osei, Juliana Gyekyewaa, Salma Naazo, Police Ladies’ Margaret Agyapomaa and Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ Diana Amoako.
Esther Asamoah Yiadom, Latifa Musah, Latifa Abesik, Sarah Nyarko and Ruth Amponsah have been chosen for midfield.
The forward line is completed by Ivy Osei Owusu, Jackline Ntoso, Priscilla Mensah, Angelema Akanyirige and Guangdong Women’s forward Agnes Yeboah.
The announcement gives Ghana a settled group ahead of their opening fixture in Poland. Sampson’s side will begin their campaign against Ecuador on 6 September 2026.
Ghana will then face Korea Republic and France in their remaining group-stage matches. The three fixtures will determine whether the team progresses from its group at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The inclusion of Tay, Dawah and Abdul Salam provides the squad with players who have already appeared at this level, while the selection also features representatives of Police Ladies, Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Guangdong Women’s.
Sampson has now completed his preparations for the tournament by naming the final group that will represent Ghana in Poland.
