Aowin Sanitation Boys Initiative Takes Lead in Building Cleaner Communities

The Founder of the Aowin Sanitation Boys Initiative (ASB), Benedict Amprofi Asante Junior, popularly known as Peekay, has outlined the vision of the initiative aimed at promoting environmental cleanliness, public health, and civic responsibility across the Aowin Municipality.

Speaking to Sefwinews, he said the volunteer-driven movement was established to mobilise residents, particularly the youth, to actively participate in sanitation activities and contribute to building a cleaner and healthier environment.

Mr. Asante Junior explained that one of the key objectives of the initiative is to organise regular sanitation exercises in communities to improve cleanliness and encourage residents to take responsibility for their surroundings.

He added that the group will focus on desilting gutters and drains to help reduce flooding, especially during the rainy season, while also ensuring proper collection and disposal of waste to protect public health.

The founder noted that the Aowin Sanitation Boys Initiative will also embark on public education campaigns to sensitise residents on proper sanitation practices, waste management, and the need to maintain clean communities.

He emphasised that the initiative seeks to promote volunteerism by encouraging community members to offer their time and efforts towards environmental protection and local development.

Mr. Asante Junior further stated that ASB will collaborate with the Aowin Municipal Assembly and other stakeholders to support ongoing efforts aimed at improving sanitation standards within the municipality.

He encouraged the youth to see community service as a responsibility and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of Aowin through selfless service, discipline, unity, and teamwork.

“The vision is to build a cleaner, healthier, and more attractive Aowin for present and future generations,” he said, adding that collective action remains essential in achieving sustainable environmental improvement.
