Bibiani GoldStars has officially announced that their head coach, Michael Osei, will be taking a temporary leave due to the team’s recent string of poor performances.
The Western North club has faced a challenging run, failing to secure a victory in their last seven games and only managing to gather five points from a potential 21.
In this disappointing stretch, Bibiani GoldStars endured two losses and settled for five draws, placing them in the 17th position with a mere 11 points from 11 matches in the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
The concerning results have prompted the decision for Michael Osei to step away from his coaching duties temporarily.
This setback comes ahead of Bibiani GoldStars’ upcoming match against in-form Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Sunday, where Michael Osei will be absent from the technical bench.
Michael Osei, who has been at the helm of Bibiani GoldStars since their promotion to the top tier in the 2021-22 season, now faces increased pressure as the team strives to reverse its current fortunes.
During their debut season in the top flight, Bibiani GoldStars secured a respectable 9th-place finish.
The following season, under Osei’s guidance, the team achieved an admirable 5th-place finish, accumulating 49 points from 34 matches.
However, the recent dip in performance has raised concerns about the team’s trajectory, prompting the coaching staff to take strategic measures to address the situation.
