Dr. Gideon Brenya Agyapong, popularly known as Nana Brenya, has officially picked and filed his nomination forms to contest for the position of Western North Regional Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Earlier on Friday, July 17, 2026, NPP Constituency Youth Organisers from the nine constituencies in the Western North Region, led by the Sefwi Wiawso Constituency Youth Organiser, Bernard Damtey, picked the nomination forms on behalf of Dr. Gideon Brenya Agyapong as a demonstration of their confidence in his leadership and their collective endorsement of his bid.
According to the youth organisers, the gesture reflected their belief that Dr. Brenya possesses the vision, experience, and commitment needed to unite and strengthen the party’s youth wing ahead of the 2028 general elections.

The event drew a large number of party supporters and executives, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and unity.

Supporters welcomed Dr. Brenya with chants, songs, and energetic jama, reflecting the growing excitement surrounding his campaign and their confidence in his leadership.

Speaking after filing and submitting his nomination forms at the party’s regional office in Sefwi Wiawso, Dr. Brenya said his decision to contest was driven by his commitment to strengthen the party’s youth wing and position it to play a pivotal role in the NPP’s quest to reclaim power in the 2028 general elections under the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
He noted that empowering young people, strengthening grassroots structures, and promoting active youth participation across the region would be at the heart of his leadership if given the mandate.
“I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all NPP wings, regional executives, constituency executives, district and municipal youth organisers, as well as every party member who has supported me in picking this nomination form. Your encouragement and confidence inspire me to continue this journey,” he said.

Dr. Brenya appealed to delegates and the broader party fraternity, including the Council of Elders, patrons, electoral area coordinators, TESCON members, polling station executives, constituency and regional executives, friends, and supporters, to support his vision for the youth wing.
He pledged to pursue policies that would empower young people, deepen unity within the party, and strengthen grassroots mobilisation to position the NPP for victory in the 2028 general elections.
“I am committed to building an active, united, and purpose-driven youth wing that will work tirelessly for the success of our party. Together, we can create opportunities for young people and secure a stronger future for the NPP in the Western North Region,” he added.

One of the highlights of the occasion was the presence of the NPP TESCON Western North Regional Coordinator, Gascony, who recently withdrew from the Youth Organiser race.
He publicly declared his support for Dr. Brenya and urged delegates to rally behind his candidacy, describing him as the right person to lead the party’s youth wing in the region.
