The 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Sefwi Wiawso, Festus Bumakama Agyapong, has declared his intention to contest the party’s next parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Mr Agyapong made the declaration during a live appearance on Billionaire TV’s Ɔman NkÉ”soÉ” programme, where he announced his decision to seek the party’s parliamentary candidature again.
In outlining his reasons for contesting, he described his ambition as an effort to build on his previous political experience, strengthen grassroots engagement and continue contributing to the development of communities across the constituency.
Mr Agyapong also highlighted his record in youth empowerment and community development, describing these as key areas of his leadership experience.
He said his return to the race reflects calls from grassroots supporters for him to seek the party’s mandate again.
Mr Agyapong was elected NPP parliamentary candidate for Sefwi Wiawso in January 2024 after polling 592 votes to defeat four other aspirants in the party’s primaries.
He subsequently represented the party in the December 2024 parliamentary elections.
