GAAM appoints Frank Nelson Ackah as National President

The Ghana Association of Assembly Members (GAAM) has appointed Frank Nelson Ackah, its Western North Regional President, as the Interim National President.

This appointment was officially announced at a meeting held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, in Accra.

Frank Nelson Ackah, who serves as the Assemblymember for Asawinso ‘A’ Electoral Area in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North region, will now lead GAAM along with other newly appointed interim executives.

These executives include Mark Adaatusidi as Vice President, Isaac Manu as Secretary, Kwaku Ofori as Organizer, Citizen Tetteh as Public Relations Officer, Vincent Yomerdo as Coordinating Secretary, Gladys Akotia as Women’s Organizer, Abraham Aho as Financial Secretary, and Beatrice Asantewa as Treasurer.

During his address to the media, Frank Nelson Ackah expressed his deep gratitude to the executives and members for placing their trust in him with this significant role.

He vowed to work closely and diligently with his fellow executives to prioritize the welfare of the members and to further the association’s progress.

“The well-being of our members is of utmost importance to me and my fellow executives. We will do everything within our capabilities to ensure GAAM’s advancement,” Ackah stated.

Frank Nelson Ackah also called for strong collaboration from both members and other stakeholders to help drive the association forward.

Moreover, he urged the government to accelerate the payment of outstanding benefits to the outgoing assembly members.

“I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to the government and the MMDAs to speed up the payment of the outstanding emoluments owed to the outgoing assembly members.”

“This will motivate the incoming members. However, I must emphasize that the welfare of assembly members nationwide is my top priority. I will advocate for unity among all members to achieve our common goals,” he declared.

Frank Nelson Ackah concluded by expressing his appreciation to both the outgoing and new executives, as well as the assembly members, for their unwavering support.
