GFA summons Sefwi All Stars over alleged failure to protect Match Officials

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Sefwi All Stars following allegations of negligence in ensuring the safety of match officials during a recent fixture.

The GFA’s statement of offense, citing Section 16 (1)(c) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019, accuses the club of failing to uphold its responsibility in safeguarding match officials.

The incident in question transpired during Sefwi All Stars’ clash against Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs in the Access Bank Division One League, held at Asafo Ramos Park on March 10th, 2024. Amidst the intensity of the match, concerns arose regarding the conduct of the home team’s supporters towards match officials.

In response to these allegations, the GFA has summoned Sefwi All Stars to appear before the disciplinary committee to address the charges leveled against them.

This summons underscores the GFA’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of match officials, whose role is integral to the integrity of the game.

Sefwi All Stars will have the opportunity to present their defense before the disciplinary committee, which will carefully examine the evidence and testimonies pertaining to the incident.
