Bibiani GoldStars have tied down goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi to a new two-year contract extension, securing the services of one of their most dependable players until 2028.
The new agreement comes as a reward for the 23-year-old goalkeeper’s impressive performances since joining the Miners, with the club keen to retain a key figure in their recent successes.
Kobi’s previous contract was scheduled to end in June 2026, but GoldStars moved quickly to secure his future as part of their plans to maintain stability and build a competitive squad.
The talented shot-stopper has emerged as one of the outstanding goalkeepers in the Ghana Premier League, producing several match-winning displays. His consistency earned him the Goalkeeper of the Month award for February after recording two clean sheets and conceding only one goal in three consecutive victories.
His performances have also seen him regularly feature among nominees for monthly league awards, further highlighting his growing reputation as one of the division’s finest goalkeepers.
The contract extension reflects GoldStars’ ambition to keep their strongest assets while preparing for future domestic and continental competitions. The club has also boosted its goalkeeping options with the signing of Kwadwo Osei Bonsu as a backup, creating healthy competition within the squad.
