“I came to politics to bring prosperity and dev’t to Sefwi Wiawso” – Festus Bumankama Agyapong

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Sefwi Wiawso, Festus Bumankama Agyapong, has made a bold declaration, stating that his entry into politics is solely aimed at fostering prosperity and development in the area.

Festus Bumankama Agyapong, a figure well-respected in the community for his philanthropic efforts and business acumen, made this known during a mega health walk attended by thousands held in Sefwi Boako on Sunday, April 28.

The health walk was attended by distinguished personalities including Deputy Finance Minister who doubles as Parliamentary Candidate for Juaboso, Louis Owusu Agyapong, MCE for Sefwi Wiawso, Samuel Kofi Abeam, Western North NPP Elections and Research Officer, Felix Foster Ackah, NPP Western North Regional Secretary, McDaniel Nyame, NPP Western North Regional Organizer, Harry Addo, NPP Western North Regional Communication Officer, and others.

Addressing a crowd of enthusiastic supporters, he outlined his vision for the constituency, emphasizing the need for sustainable growth and improved living standards for all residents.

Hailing from a lineage deeply rooted in service and community development, Agyapong highlighted his familial ties to the area’s history of progress, citing his grandfather’s pivotal role as the first district commissioner during Kwame Nkrumah’s era, responsible for the establishment of Sefwi Wiawso Secondary School.

“I came to politics to bring prosperity and development to Sefwi. A lot of people thought I’m from Wiawso but I’m from Ayabrem, DC Fosu is my Grandfather, the first District Commissioner during Kwame Nkrumah era who initiated the construction of Sefwi Wiawso Secondary School.”

Addressing concerns from opposing parties, Bumankama Agyapong exuded confidence, asserting his dedication to silencing critics through tangible developmental initiatives.

“I have heard a lot from the opposition party, but I have to tell them, I will shut them down with developmental works,” he declared.

Promising immediate action, Festus Bumankama Agyapong announced plans to kickstart developmental projects, including the commencement of work at Boako market, scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

In a bid to empower the youth, Festus Bumankama Agyapong pledged to foster economic opportunities, envisioning the establishment of a mining company within the constituency.

Additionally, he pledged to realize the long-awaited cocoa processing factory and ensure farmers receive adequate support for their cocoa farms.

Echoing support for Bumankama Agyapong’s vision, the Member of Parliament for Akontombra, Alex Tetteh, urged party members to unite in their efforts to secure victory for the Sefwi Wiawso NPP Parliamentary Candidate.

Alex Tetteh commended Agyapong’s dedication to Sefwi Wiawso’s development and promised assistance in bolstering developmental activities within the constituency.

However, amidst the fervour of political campaigns, the Member of Parliament for Akontombra cautioned against social media insults, urging Ghanaians to maintain civility in their discourse.

On his part, Benjamin Armah, Western North Regional Chairman of the NPP, rallied constituents to adopt a grassroots campaign approach to secure Bumankama Agyapong’s victory and break the eight-regime tradition.
