Nana Elluo Panyin III sets date for Nsuonsua 2024 Eluo Festival

The Chief of Sefwi Nsuonsua, who also serves as the Kyidomhene of the Wiawso Traditional Council, Nana Elluo Panyin III, together with his queen mother and the council of elders, has announced the dates for the Nsuonsua 2024 Eluo Festival.

The festival, known for its vibrant celebration of culture and tradition, will take place from August 4th to August 18th, 2024.

The festivities will begin on August 4th with the grand official opening of the new palace, marking a significant milestone in the community’s history. This momentous event will set the tone for the festival.

On August 8th, the festival will officially kick off with a Special Gathering of Nananom, featuring the pouring of libation to honour the ancestors. This traditional ceremony will set a spiritual foundation for the festivities ahead.

Community welfare and development take center stage from August 9th to 10th, with free health screenings and skill training sessions to demonstrate a strong commitment to the well-being of the community.

Athletic talent will be on display on August 12th with a football competition, aimed at showcasing the skills of local athletes and fostering a sense of pride and competition.

From August 13th to 14th, the community will come together for a General Community Labour and Clean-Up Exercise to emphasize the importance of maintaining a clean and vibrant environment.

A highlight of the festival, the Firing of Musketry (Dwiratwa), will take place on August 15th to offering a captivating display of cultural heritage that showcases the community’s rich history and customs.

On August 16th, Nananom will ride in a palanquin and witness the purification of the black stool, followed by a vibrant street carnival that promises to bring joy and excitement to all attendees.

The festivities continue with an Artist Night on August 17th, featuring musicians that highlight the best of local and regional talent to provide entertainment and inspiration.

The festival will conclude on August 18th with a Thanksgiving Service, followed by the Gala Competition Final and a sumptuous Dinner Night to ensure a grand and memorable end to the celebrations.

The Nsuonsua 2024 Eluo Festival is set to be a spectacular event, bringing together the community in a joyous celebration of culture, tradition, and progress.
