Professor George Kuntu Blankson, Chairman of the Shama District Football Association and also serving as the Western and Western North SWAG Chairman, has appealed to the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for immediate intervention to rejuvenate football in the Western Region.
Speaking on Golden Sports Show aired on Takoradi-based Westgold Radio, the broadcaster highlighted the urgent need for the GFA to assess the performance of Simon Ehomah, Chairman of the Western Regional Football Association (WRFA).
Professor Blankson lamented the comparative stagnation of football in the Western and Western North Regions when juxtaposed with the progress seen in other regions such as Ashanti, Eastern, Central, and Greater Accra.
“Our second division and colt football come nowhere near to what Mr. Kataa and Kotoro and Co are achieving in their regions,” Professor Blankson asserted.
He emphasized the necessity for Kurt Okraku, the President of the GFA, to engage with Ehomah to catalyze substantial improvements in the Western Region’s football landscape.
“It’s about time Kurt Okraku sits Ehomah down to instigate diligent efforts because our football here in the Western and Western North Regions isn’t thriving as it once did,” Professor Blankson concluded.
